Report on Award Day

 The Award Day programme at Navajyothi College of Teacher Education for Women was held on October 17,

2024, celebrating the achievements and hard work of the graduating batch of 2022-2024. The event was a heartfelt

occasion, uniting graduates, staff, family members, and community leaders to acknowledge and honour academic

excellence and resilience. As the day commenced, it was noticeable that many parents and family members arrived

well ahead of the programme's start at 10 AM. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and anticipation. The

event began with a powerful song that beautifully encapsulated the resilience of women who rise above adversity,

setting an inspiring tone for the celebration. This was followed by a stunning semi-classical dance that captivated

the audience with its grace and artistry.The esteemed guests were then invited to take their seats on the stage,

leading to the formal proceedings of the event. Rev. Sr. Dr Gigi Paul, the Principal of Navajyothi College,

delivered the welcome address, warmly welcoming everyone to this special day. This was succeeded by the

presidential address from Rev. Fr. John Peramangalam, Assistant Vicar at Little Flower Church, Olarikkara, who

shared his encouraging words with the audience. A traditional lamp lighting ceremony followed, symbolizing the

pursuit of knowledge and the dispelling of ignorance. This moment was particularly special as it brought together

faculty members and dignitaries to inaugurate the programme.

The inaugural address delivered by the chief guest, Prof. Dr. K.K. Geetha Kumari, Vice-Chancellor of Sree

Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, Kalady, was enlightening and motivational, inspiring students to embrace

their future with courage and determination. Following her address, the college magazine was officially released by

the chief guest. The magazine was introduced by Dr. Premachandran P (Staff Editor) and Rosmy Varghese

(Student Editor), showcasing the contributions and creativity of the college community. The highlight of the event

was the graduation ceremony, where each student received their graduation certificate. The college topper and

option toppers were recognized with mementos, honouring their exceptional academic achievements. Moreover, all

students who achieved above 85% were rewarded with mementos, celebrating their hard work and dedication.A

segment of felicitations ensued, where Rev. Sr. Jancy Leema (Headmistress, LFCGHS, Olarikkara), Smt. Keertika

T.G (Alumna), Sri Lijo A. Mookken (GTA President), and Rev. Sr. Jincy Lazar (Assistant Professor) shared their

words of encouragement and support with the graduates. Reflections from the graduates of all six options added a

personal touch to the ceremony, allowing students to express their thoughts on their journey through college. The

event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Dr. O.G. Bincy (Assistant Professor), acknowledging everyone

who contributed to the success of the day.

The official programme ended with the National Anthem at 12:30 PM, marking the conclusion of a memorable

event. Following the ceremony, all the students gathered for a group photo with the staff before proceeding to

separate photo sessions with their families and friends, utilizing the creatively arranged selfie points set up by their

juniors. A delightful lunch was organized for all attendees, fostering a spirit of community and celebration. The

Award Day programme at Navajyothi College was not only a celebration of academic achievements but also a

significant milestone in the lives of the graduates, marking the beginning of their professional journeys in

education. In conclusion, the event was a resounding success, leaving lasting memories of joy, pride, and inspiration for both the graduates and their loved ones.

The celebration was held during the afternoon session in the college compound and was truly a memorable event for all of us. The highlight of the celebration was the colourful rangoli created in the portico. Students came together to design and fill in an intricate and beautiful rangoli pattern using bright colors, adding a stunning visual appeal to the surroundings. The rangoli quickly became the center of attraction, drawing admiration from everyone who passed by. The vibrant colors and detailed design symbolized the joy and diversity of Holi, making the environment lively and festive. As the celebrations progressed, students and faculty members gathered to play with colours. The spirit of togetherness and joy was clearly visible on every face. People from different backgrounds came together to share sweets ,exchange greetings, and enjoy the festival as one big family. The air was filled with laughter, music,and the sweet aroma of traditional Holi snacks. It was heartwarming to witness the spirit of camaraderie and inclusiveness that this festival promotes. One of the most interesting parts of the celebration was the representation of Holi customs from different states of India. Students prepared Simple steps from the different states to perform in the portico while playing the music . This diversity made the event both educational and enjoyable, helping everyone appreciate the rich cultural traditions that make Holi unique in every corner of the country. To further enhance the festive atmosphere, we decorated the college and classrooms with colorful elements. Handmade decorative items made using colored paper, streamers, balloons, adorned the campus. Each classroom had its own theme and students worked together to make the decorations attractive and meaningful. The entire college looked like a canvas splashed with joy and color. The celebration was not just about fun and festivity but also about coming together, embracing diversity, and creating lifelong memories. Events like this remind us of the importance of unity in diversity and the joy that lies in simple acts of celebration. Overall, the Holi celebration on March 28, 2025, was a grand success. It brought everyone closer, filled our hearts with happiness, and left us with colorful memories that we will cherish for a long time.
