Report on Christmas Celebration

 The Christmas celebrations at Navajyothi College of Teacher Education for Women on 20th December 2024 were filled with joy, creativity, and a spirit of giving. The program commenced at 9:00 AM with a Card Making Competition, where participants showcased their artistic talents through individually crafted cards.

The highlight of the day, the "Secret Santa" activity, began at 9:30 AM. A Santa Claus, arriving on a scooty, added excitement and cheer to the event. Christmas-themed songs played in the background created an energetic and festive atmosphere. In a unique twist, students were tasked with finding their Christmas gifts, which were cleverly hidden in different classrooms by union members, making the activity both thrilling and novel. At 10:30 AM, all the student-teachers assembled in the auditorium. The program began with a prayer, followed by the official welcome of the esteemed guests:

The event officially started with a Welcome Speech by Archana N. S., a College Union Member, followed by an Introductory Note by Sr. Dr. Gigi Paul. The Christmas message, delivered by Sri Mathews Chungath, inspired everyone and resonated with the true spirit of the season. Next, the winners of various competitions held on and before the 20th of December were felicitated in the Prize Distribution Ceremony, followed by a celebratory cake-cutting ceremony. The distribution of cake was enjoyed by all.

The celebration was further enhanced by a series of cultural programs, which added vibrancy and joy to the day. Sri Lijo A. Mookan offered felicitations, and the program concluded in the college with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Sandhya P. G. The event ended on a patriotic note with the National Anthem. Following the college celebrations, the student-teachers extended the spirit of Christmas to the Government School in Ollarikara. As a token of love and care, they distributed cakes and kits containing pencils, erasers, scales, and pens to the children . The college students also participated in the school's cultural programs, performing dances and songs, adding joy to their celebration.

The day concluded with heartfelt interactions, and the event brought smiles to everyone, leaving behind memories of togetherness, creativity, and the joy of giving.

The celebration was held during the afternoon session in the college compound and was truly a memorable event for all of us. The highlight of the celebration was the colourful rangoli created in the portico. Students came together to design and fill in an intricate and beautiful rangoli pattern using bright colors, adding a stunning visual appeal to the surroundings. The rangoli quickly became the center of attraction, drawing admiration from everyone who passed by. The vibrant colors and detailed design symbolized the joy and diversity of Holi, making the environment lively and festive. As the celebrations progressed, students and faculty members gathered to play with colours. The spirit of togetherness and joy was clearly visible on every face. People from different backgrounds came together to share sweets ,exchange greetings, and enjoy the festival as one big family. The air was filled with laughter, music,and the sweet aroma of traditional Holi snacks. It was heartwarming to witness the spirit of camaraderie and inclusiveness that this festival promotes. One of the most interesting parts of the celebration was the representation of Holi customs from different states of India. Students prepared Simple steps from the different states to perform in the portico while playing the music . This diversity made the event both educational and enjoyable, helping everyone appreciate the rich cultural traditions that make Holi unique in every corner of the country. To further enhance the festive atmosphere, we decorated the college and classrooms with colorful elements. Handmade decorative items made using colored paper, streamers, balloons, adorned the campus. Each classroom had its own theme and students worked together to make the decorations attractive and meaningful. The entire college looked like a canvas splashed with joy and color. The celebration was not just about fun and festivity but also about coming together, embracing diversity, and creating lifelong memories. Events like this remind us of the importance of unity in diversity and the joy that lies in simple acts of celebration. Overall, the Holi celebration on March 28, 2025, was a grand success. It brought everyone closer, filled our hearts with happiness, and left us with colorful memories that we will cherish for a long time.
